Redbull Doodle Art Awards 2014
In 2014, I was announced as the South African winner of the global competition, earning the opportunity to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Doodle Art Global Gallery in Cape Town alongside artists from around the world. The competition received over 32,000 entries internationally, with winners from 27 countries showcasing their work at the final exhibition held at the Company’s Garden during Cape Town’s World Design Capital year.
My winning piece, titled “Loxion Boys,” was inspired by South African township culture and the expressive energy of Izikhothane street fashion culture. The artwork combined detailed doodle illustration, movement, symbolism, and urban storytelling to capture the vibrancy, confidence, and individuality found within kasi youth culture.

Redbull Doodle Art Awards 2023
In 2023, I placed 2nd nationally in the South African edition of the Red Bull Doodle Art competition, one of the world’s leading creative platforms celebrating illustration, imagination, and visual storytelling. The competition returned to South Africa after an eight-year hiatus and brought together emerging artists from across the country to compete through original doodle-based artworks.
My artwork stood out for its detailed storytelling, expressive characters, and strong cultural influence, continuing my passion for creating bold illustrative work inspired by urban life, youth culture, movement, and identity. The piece reflected my signature doodle illustration style — combining intricate line work, layered symbolism, and energetic composition to create an immersive visual experience.
